Interchange Launches Pilot Program
Five St. Louis Schools will experience the rewards of arts integration as Interchange launches its pilot program on
Jan. 1, 2007. Jefferson Elementary, Dunbar Elementary, Columbia Elementary, Blewett Middle School and Stevens
Middle School were chosen as the first to take advantage of Interchange programming, which will be selected by principals
and teachers at each school to complement the existing curriculum.
The pilot program is designed to develop Interchange gradually, ensuring that the effects of arts-integrated learning are deeply embedded in the community fabric and the school curriculum. The plan is for Interchange to be implemented in all St. Louis Public Schools in the next three to five years.
